Built for Real Backyard Layouts

Yards are rarely one shape. A lawn out back, beds along the fence line, containers on the patio, a greenhouse or raised beds at the far end. Johgee keeps the gateway indoors on your 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and reaches the outdoor timer over a sub-1 GHz RF link. The manufacturer states up to 1,600 ft (500 m) in unobstructed conditions; walls, buildings, terrain and interference reduce real-world range.

For long or deep lots

Designed to place the Wi-Fi gateway indoors while the timer remains outside.

For weak outdoor signal

Actual RF range depends on walls, buildings, terrain and local interference.

For mixed planting

Lawn, raised beds, drip lines and containers each get their own schedule.

  • Indoor 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi gateway, long-range RF to the timer
  • Check the inlet thread, supplied adaptor and gateway plug for your destination before ordering
  • Outdoor timer runs on 2 AA alkaline batteries (not included)
  • Weather-aware scheduling and rain delay in the app
  • 12-month warranty

How to Set It Up

  1. 1. Plug the Johgee Wi-Fi gateway into an indoor outlet, ideally on the wall facing the yard.
  2. 2. Install the Smart Life / Tuya-compatible app and pair the gateway to your home 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  3. 3. Insert 2 AA alkaline batteries into the outdoor 4-zone timer. Batteries are not included.
  4. 4. Confirm that the inlet and supplied adaptor match your faucet, then hand-tighten the timer. Do not use a wrench on the plastic collar.
  5. 5. Press the pairing button on the gateway and on the timer to establish the RF link.
  6. 6. Connect your hoses or drip lines to the four zones, run each zone manually once, then set the schedules in the app.

Before freezing weather, shut off and drain the faucet, then remove and store the timer indoors. It is not designed to stay outdoors through a hard freeze.

Why We Built It This Way

Johgee Irrigation started from one repeated complaint: smart faucet timers that work fine on a bench and drop out the moment they are carried to the far end of the yard. Once the timer sits behind an exterior wall, past a detached garage, or a long way from the router, a Wi-Fi-only device spends the season disconnecting.

Our answer is to move the Wi-Fi gateway indoors. It connects to your 2.4 GHz network and communicates with the outdoor timer over a separate sub-1 GHz RF link. Actual range varies with the property, so test every zone before relying on an unattended schedule.

Four independent zones means a lawn, a run of raised beds, a drip line for containers and a greenhouse can each keep their own schedule, from one faucet, without trenching or hard-wiring. The aim is simple: use less water, spend less time dragging hose, and come back from a trip to plants that are still alive.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will it fit my outdoor faucet?

Faucet and tap threads vary by country and installation. Compare your thread with the supplied fitting shown on the product page, or email a clear photo and your country to support before ordering. Do not assume a North American fitting matches an Australian or European tap.

Do I need Wi-Fi out at the faucet?

No. The gateway stays indoors on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi and reaches the timer over RF. That is the whole point of the design. Your phone can be on 5 GHz or cellular once setup is done.

Can I run a zone without my phone?

Yes. Manual buttons on the timer start a single zone for a preset duration, which is useful when you are already outside.

What powers it?

The outdoor timer takes 2 AA alkaline batteries, which are not included. The indoor gateway needs a wall outlet. Confirm the supplied plug for your delivery country before ordering, especially for Australia. Battery life depends on how often and how long you water; the app warns when the level is low.

Where does it ship from, and will I pay duty?

Orders ship from our warehouse in the United Kingdom and normally leave in 1–3 business days. Delivery availability and charges are confirmed at checkout. Import duties, taxes or carrier clearance fees may still be collected separately; see the Shipping Policy.

Can I leave it outside over winter?

No. Shut off and drain the faucet before the first hard freeze, then bring the timer indoors. Water left in the valve body can crack it.

Works great. The app is awesome.

“These are great. I set up 5 of them to water my new lawn. I can easily control all the zones from the app. I set them up to run at staggered times each 5 minute at a time every hour throughout the day.”
